The Secretary General of the Austro-Arab Chamber of Commerce, Eng. Mouddar KHOUJA, was invited as a speaker at the fourth edition of “The Arab Forum for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency “ARFREE”.
The Forum was held in Kuwait from 6-7 of May 2018 under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Ahmed ABUL GHEIT, the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, and the Kuwaiti Minister of Electricity and Oil, Eng. Bakhit AL RASHIDI. The ARFREE Forum, which was co-organized by the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE), presented topics of sustainable energy from investment, employment and technology perspectives, and was attended by a number of high-level representatives and personalities.
In the session focused on “sustainable energy investments, challenges and opportunities in the Arab region” AACC Secretary General Eng. KHOUJA held a presentation about Vienna’s approach to renewable energy and energy efficiency within urban development. He gave details about the factors that made the city of Vienna ranking highest for quality of living for the 9th year in a row, according to Mercer’s 20th Annual Quality of Living Survey. The session was professionally moderated by Dr. Ahmed BADR, Executive Director of RCREEE.
In addition to his panel presentation, the AACC Secretary General signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with RCREEE for cooperation in fields of common interests and organizing joint events and forums. One upcoming joint event is planned “10th Arab-Austrian Economic Forum & Exhibition” which will be held on 1st October 2018 in Vienna, organised by AACC, RCREEE and the City of Vienna, in cooperation with UNIDO and the Union of the Mediterranean (UfM).
One day after the Forum, on May 8, Eng. KHOUJA met with the Director General from the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Rabah Abdulrahman AL-RABAH. They discussed several topics, and Mr. KHOUJA invited Mr. RABAH to the upcoming AACC Forum in October 2018.
