The Austro-Arab Chamber of Commerce expresses its sincere condolences to the families of those killed by the earthquake.
The inhabitants in the northern area of Syria are suffering from the damages of the devastating earthquakes that hit the region and parts of southern Turkey on February 6, 2023.
In Syria, more than 6.200(*) people have been reported dead so far, thousands were injured, while houses, buildings and the infrastructure were damaged or completely destroyed.
Hundreds of people are still missed, while rescue teams are trying to rescue those trapped under collapsed buildings. Thousands of residents who survived the catastrophe have nowhere to go and stay outside albeit the freezing cold, either because their homes have been destroyed or because they are afraid of further quakes.
Rescue teams and humanitarian organisations are trying to help finding victims under the rubble, and to provide assistance, equipment and aid for those being left without homes and shelter.
To support the victims and to provide them with food, clothes, shelter and medical aid, financial aid can be donated to the following humanitarian organization based in Austria with teams operating in the affected areas in Syria:
- Human Relief - Menschen Hilfswerk
Humanitarian organization based in Austria, awarded by the Austrian Fund with the Donation Seal of Approval (Spendengütesiegel), donations are tax-deductible!
