The Secretary-General of AACC headed the session on investment opportunities in Iraq at the 27th Arab-German Business Forum

From June 3 to June 5, 2024, the 27th Arab-German Business Forum was held in Berlin, with the AACC (Austro-Arab Chamber of Commerce) playing a significant role. AACC Secretary-General Dipl.-Ing. Mouddar Khouja led the session on Investment Opportunities in Iraq. During the roundtable discussion, Dipl.-Ing. Khouja engaged in dialogues on infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and notably, tourism. Participants included, among others, presidents of local chambers in Iraq. Additionally, various projects in Iraq were highlighted, attracting significant interest from numerous German entrepreneurs who viewed Iraq as a promising market.
Moreover, Dipl.-Ing. Khouja met with H.E. Said bin Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Saqri, Omani Minister of Economy; H.E. Maitha Al Mahrouqi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Germany; and Dr. Abdullah Masaud Al Harthi, Board Member of the Omani Chamber of Commerce & Industry, to discuss enhancing future economic collaborations between Oman and Austria. During this meeting, Secretary-General Khouja had the honor of inviting the Omani delegation to participate in the upcoming 14th Austro-Arab Economic Forum, which will be part of the 35th Anniversary Celebrations of the AACC on October 23, 2024.
Dipl.-Ing. Khouja played a key role in the forum, actively facilitating discussions and showcasing the chamber's unwavering support to the Ghorfa in fostering Arab-German business relations. The AACC's consistent presence and significant contributions to this forum each year underscore its dedication to strengthening economic ties between the two regions.
Secretary-General of the Ghorfa (Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Abdulaziz Al-Mikhlafi, has been instrumental in promoting sustainable development, digital transformation, and bilateral investment opportunities. These critical issues were central to the discussions, reflecting the Ghorfa’s commitment to addressing the multifaceted nature of German-Arab economic relations.
The Arab-German Chamber also played a crucial role in facilitating exceptional networking opportunities during the event. By bringing together business leaders, policymakers, and experts from both regions, the chamber helped foster new partnerships and strengthen existing ones. This interaction is vital for the continuous development of robust economic ties, an objective the Ghorfa passionately supports.
Aside from the Forum, the General Assembly took place, where the previous President, Dr. Peter Ramsauer, stepped down. Mr. Olaf Hoffmann, Chairman of the Board of the Dorsch Group, has been unanimously elected as the new President of the Ghorfa. Additionally, the Board elections took place. Sheikh Khalifa Al-Thani was elected as the first Vice President, Dr. Joachim Pfeiffer as the second Vice President, and Mr. Khalil Al Hajj Toufiq as the third Vice President.
